Dr. Angella Bonde Schaefer

Optometrist

Dr. Angella (Bonde) Schaefer grew up in the country outside the small town of Nerstrand, MN with her parents and two older brothers. She graduated from Faribault High School. She attended Concordia College in Moorhead, MN and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry. She received her Doctorate in Optometry from Illinois College of Optometry. Dr. Schaefer’s formal training included clinical internships at Kohake, Deutscher, and Hefner in Topeka, KS, Providence VA Medical Center in Providence, RI, Illinois Eye Institute in Chicago, IL and EyeCare Associates in Fargo, ND. Dr. Schaefer practiced in Carrington, ND prior to joining Richie Eye Clinic in 2017. 

Dr. Schaefer’s professional memberships and affiliations include: 

• American Optometric Association 

• Minnesota Optometric Association 

• Faribault Lions Club 

• Grace Lutheran Church of Nerstrand 

​​​​​​Her areas of interest include pediatrics, glaucoma, urgent care visits and primary care optometry. 

Dr. Schaefer’s interests include spending time with her husband and three children, home projects, reading and enjoying outdoors.

Dr. Schaefer is an advocate for healthy eyes and clear vision for the Faribault and Northfield communities.
